Czech President Milos Zeman on Thursday criticised the extradition of alleged Russian hacker Yevgenyi Nikulin from the Czech Republic to the United States as a step that could be used in an internal political fight in the US. The Czech Republic should not interfere in such a fight, he said. Answering a journalist question at a press conference he held jointly with Slovak President Andrej Kiska, Zeman said he had a different view of the Nikulin case than Justice Minister Robert Pelikan, who had approved Nikulin's extradition, but added that he fully respected the minister's right to decide on this matter.
