Youth climate summit starts in Katowice

The Conference of Youth (COY), a three-day youth climate summit, started on Thursday at the University of Silesia in Katowice, southern Poland. It precedes the COP 24 UN climate summit in Katowice, which will receive the conclusions worked out during the COY. The COP24 summit on climate change will take place from December 3 to 14, 2018. The COP (Conference of the Parties) summit is the highest body of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). Decisions made at COP summits map out global climate policy for the following years.
