VW Slovakia's profit down 13 pc in 2020

Volkswagen (VW) Slovakia, the largest car manufacturer in Slovakia, achieved a gross profit of 278 million euros with a turnover of 9.75 billion last year, head of VW Slovakia's board Oliver Grunberg said on Thursday. This is a drop of approximately 13 percent when compared with 2019, when VW Slovakia posted a profit of 320 million euros. However, it should be noted that the company was hit by a five-week production shutdown last year in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
