The Via Carpathia north-south motorway through central and easterb Europe is important for Poland's economic interests, Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Adamczyk said on Monday in Nisko, where he signed contracts for the construction of three sections of the road to connect Klaipeda in Lithuania with Saloniki in Greece through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. "Via Carpathia is a much-awaited project by Lithuania, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, as well as the Western Balkans, who also want to join the route by way of local access roads. Today Via Carpathia is a project that is underway," Adamczyk said.
