US Vice-President Mike Pence, at a ceremony held at the 1st Airlift Base in Warsaw on Wednesday, thanked Polish and US soldiers for defending freedom as he underscored the Polish-US alliance. The vice-president and his wife Karen Pence, together with Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda, took part in a meeting with Polish and US troops stationed at the base. Pence said Poland was a bastion of freedom in Central Europe and stressed that nearly 5,000 American soldiers serve in the country as part of the Polish-US alliance.
