US troops in Poland with cross-party support - official

Expanding the presence of American troops in Poland has won approval of all political forces in the US thanks to Polish efforts, Poland's permanent representative to NATO in Brussels Tomasz Szatkowski told the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna on Tuesday. Szatkowski said that a substantial part of the Polish-US agreement regarding the US military presence in Poland is contained in a joint political declaration signed by presidents Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump. He added that this declaration was negotiated by the Ministry of National Defence and the Pentagon with the intention that subsequent legal agreements should be a technical elaboration of its content.
