The clash of a passenger train and a sheep herd claimed the lives of 42 sheep near Beroun, Central Bohemia, on Thursday, but no passengers were injured, local police spokeswoman Marcela Pucelikova and firefighters' spokesman Petr Svoboda have told journalists. The train was carrying some 90 people, they said. Due to the investigation into the accident, only one of the two tracks in the area is being used, according to the website of the Czech railway company.
