The senior governing Smer-SD party lost a little of its dominant position in the local elections on Saturday and its ambitions should be higher, especially in the context of previous electoral terms, but these elections have again confirmed that the current opposition is not a governing alternative, Smer-SD MP Erik Tomas has written on social media. "Let's not go crazy! This spontaneous reaction came to my mind when I read that the opposition and, unfortunately, also some media are interpreting the results of the local elections as a 'defeat' for Smer-SD. But the facts speak unambiguously. Among the political parties, the clear winner is the Smer-SD party, and the parliamentary opposition suffered a catastrophic defeat," Tomas wrote.
