Thousands gather in Bratislava to demand snap election

Thousands of people gathered on the SNP Square in the centre of Bratislava on Friday to demand an early election in hope that it would end the rule of the current main governing party Smer-SD, which has been in power with a two-year hiatus since 2006. People on the square shouted slogans such as 'election', 'enough of Smer and [its chairman Robert] Fico', 'to prison', while others were holding anti-government banners.
