Thousands attend SNP commemoration in Banska Bystrica

Commemorations of the 1944 Slovak National Uprising (SNP) in WWII in Banska Bystrica were attended by some 10,000 people. The SNP Museum based in the city organises the event every year. "We have had a lot of positive feedback directly from the attendees as well as from people on social networks. Next year when we're marking the 75th anniversary of the SNP, we want to organise a four-day ceremony that will include many accompanying events, such as camps by military history clubs," organisers said.
