Over 5,000 teachers affiliated with the Polish Teachers' Union (ZNP) as well as non-affiliated teachers and parents will take part in a protest in front of the Education Ministry building on Saturday, ZNP head Slawomir Broniarz said on Friday. The union will stage a nationwide demonstration under the banner "We've had enough!" amid demands for a 1,000 zloty (EUR 240) pay rise for teachers as well as calling for Education Minister Anna Zalewska's dismissal. Speaking at a press conference, Broniarz said that the demonstration "is in a way an answer to the question of how Polish education functions under Anna Zalewska," likening her performance to "a string of failures and defeats" as well as chaos.
