Industrial production posted a year-on-year increase of 3.1 percent in December 2018, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Monday. This was largely due to a 4.1-percent increase in industrial manufacturing, while supplies of electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning declined by 1 percent and the output of mining and quarrying was down 3.9 percent. "Seasonally adjusted industrial output in December 2018 dropped by 0.9 percent on a month-on-month basis," said the Statistics Office.
