Statistics Office: Unemployment in Slovakia drops to 5.9 pc

The unemployment rate in Slovakia dropped year-on-year by 14,000 people to 161,200 in 3Q19, which amounts to a y-o-y decrease by 0.5 percentage point to 5.9 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday. The unemployment rate among men stood at 5.7 percent, seeing a y-o-y drop of 0.3 percentage points, whereas the rate equalled 6.1 percent among women and y-o-y decrease by 0.7 percentage point. In quarter-to-quarter comparison, the seasonally adjusted unemployment dropped by 1,300 people or 0.8 percent to 158,800.
