Spartak Trnava have denied accusations that they could have won the 2017/18 Slovak football league through corruption, TASR learnt on Monday. "First of all, we want to emphasise that we strictly reject and condemn any association with possible corruption and the alleged case. Spartak Trnava won the championship title honestly and correctly in the 2017/18 season, without any possible accompanying influence as reported by topky.sk," said a statement released by the club. Earlier in the day, topky.sk said that there are documented testimonies and evidence proving that players were bribed in matches involving the club that won Slovakia's premier league, called for sponsorship reasons 'Fortuna liga'.
