Social Democrats to propose Zaoralek as new culture minister

August 21st, 2019

Czech Social Democrats (CSSD) will propose their former foreign minister Lubomir Zaoralek as the new culture minister, party leader Jan Hamacek told journalists today. At first, the CSSD proposed its deputy chairman Michal Smarda, but on Monday, he gave up his bid after a three-month dispute with President Milos Zeman who refused to name him. Hamacek has said he believed there will be no problem with the naming of the new candidate.
