Slovakia trade surplus EUR 436.8 m in September

Slovakia's foreign trade produced a surplus of 436.8 million euros in September 2018, which is a drop of 16.5 million euros year-on-year, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. Total exports amounted to 6.98 billion euros, up by 5.2 percent y-o-y, while total imports increased by 5.8 percent to reach 6.543 billion euros. In the January-September period, exports grew by 7.1 percent y-o-y to 58.565 billion euros, while imports rose by 7.3 percent y-o-y to 56.396 billion euros. Slovakia thus reported a nine-month trade balance surplus of 2.169 billion euros, up 74.6 million euros from the same period of last year.
