Slovakia public sector posts deficit of 6.16 pc of GDP in 2020

Slovakia's public sector posted a deficit of 5.609 billion euros, or 6.16 percent of GDP in 2020, while the public debt reached 55.181 billion (60.57 percent of GDP), the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. The public finance deficit increased by 4.360 billion euros (4.83 percentage points of GDP) year-on-year. The central government posted a deficit of 6.118 billion euros, up by 4.549 year-on-year. Local governments and social funds recorded moderate surpluses in 2020.
