Slovakia posts trade surplus of EUR 140.8 m in February 2018

Slovakia's foreign trade produced a surplus of 140.8 million euros in February 2018, which is a drop of 151.6 million euros year-on-year, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. Total exports amounted to 6.249 billion euros (up by 4.9 percent y-o-y), while total imports increased even more (by 7.9 percent) to reach 6.109 billion euros. In January and February, exports grew 5.9 percent y-o-y to 12.201 billion euros and imports rose 9.7 percent y-o-y to 12.033 billion euros. Slovakia thus reported a two-month trade balance surplus of 167.9 million euros, down 389.9 million euros from the same period of last year.
