Slovakia posted trade balance surplus of EUR 515m in March 2018

Slovakia's foreign trade produced a surplus of 515 million euros in March 2018, which is an increase of 278.7 million euros year-on-year, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. Total exports amounted to 6.864 billion euros (down by 1.3 percent y-o-y), while total imports decreased even more (by 5.5 percent) to reach 6.349 billion euros. In the January to March period, exports grew 3 percent y-o-y to 19.042 billion euros and imports rose 3.5 percent y-o-y to 18.307 billion euros. Slovakia thus reported a three-month trade balance surplus of 735 million euros, down 59 million euros from the same period last year.
