Slovakia planning to raise EUR 4.3 bn from bond issue

January 4th, 2019

The Slovak state is planning to borrow 4.3 billion euros through bond issues this year, TASR learnt from Finance Minister Peter Kazimir, noting that the issuing of bonds with longer maturity depends on developments on financial markets and the needs of the state. "The financing needs for the year 2019 are planned at 4.3 billion euros. We'll respond to this depending on the evolution of balances at the Treasury. It's a relatively small need in a year-on-year comparison. We issue about 7 billion euros a year in ordinary years. We needed less money in 2018 on the basis of the cash deficit," said the finance minister.
