Slovak president seeks police chief's dismissal

April 6th, 2018

"The only thing that I'm interested in concerning Police Corps President Tibor Gaspar is when Interior Minister Tomas Drucker will remove him from his post," President Andrej Kiska said on Friday in reaction to Gaspar's statement that Kiska is in a conflict of interests with the situation. "The president is sorry that the police, led by Tibor Gaspar, have become a part of the political fight, but they failed in protecting the life of journalist Jan Kuciak, who had asked them to investigate threats against his person," said Kiska's spokesman Roman Krpelan.
