Slovak president keeps distance from Smer-SD campaigns

President Andrej Kiska "won't get involved in the filthy campaigns" of the Smer-SD party, said his spokesman Roman Krpelan on Monday after the tax authorities revealed that Kiska allegedly spent more funds on his presidential campaign than allowed. "A report by the finance committee is a tax secret that the president hasn't seen. The president is paying an official visit to Norway and won't engage in the dirty campaigns of the Smer-SD political party," said Krpelan. He added that the finance ministry had " stated that none of them [the presidential candidates] had violated the law, including Andrej Kiska".
