The non-parliamentary Together-Civic Democracy party wants companies to disclose how much they pay to men and women in the same positions in order to eliminate the gender pay gap, TASR learnt on Thursday. Speaking at a press conference, independent MP Simona Petrik pointed out that the gender pay gap in Slovakia is 9 percent - the third worst ranking within the EU after Estonia and Lithuania. "Women are thus threatened with poverty in old age because they have lower savings and lower pensions," said Petrik. Along with his colleague and leader of Together-Civic Democracy Miroslav Beblavy, currently an independent MP, Petrik will submit a draft law introducing changes in this regard.
