Slovak minister voices shock over murder of journalist

February 26th, 2018

Interior Minister Robert Kalinak has scrapped his Monday programme in response to the murder of Aktuality.sk investigative journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancé. "I'm unhappy and dismayed by the murder," Kalinak wrote on Facebook. Police chief Tibor Gaspar at a press conference earlier in the day reported that the murder was probably related to the journalist's work. Kuciak, 27, who specialised in covering large-scale tax fraud, and his fiancé were found dead by the police in his house in Velka Maca (Trnava region) on Sunday night.
