At an away session in the village of Prakovce (Kosice region), the Slovak government on Thursday allocated a total of 55.75 million euros from public resources as part of an Action Plan for the development of Gelnica district. The plan is aimed at creating 931 new jobs by 2022 in the district in Slovakia's least developed areas. Apart from the Action Plan, the government will spend another 1 million euros from its reserves for the district, in order to fund the reconstruction of local roads, schools and churches, as well as the building of an ice hockey arena in Gelnica and of a gym in the village of Velky Folkmar.
