The Slovak government earmarked 382,330 euros from its reserves for the operation of 20 consulting centres focused on preventing violence against women and domestic violence in the first quarter of this year. An additional 99,000 euros will be allocated for the Labour and Family Research Institute, specifically for operating a free non-stop helpline for women experiencing violence. The government in its 2016-2020 Manifesto committed itself to addressing violence against women, for instance, by developing services and measures aimed at preventing and punishing such crimes.
