Slovak foreign and justice ministers pay homage to Holocaust victims

January 27th, 2021

The Holocaust is a historical reminder as well as an appeal to the present day, "telling us to not turn a blind eye or deaf ear to expressions of hatred and extremism", Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok said on Wednesday on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. "There's too much evil around us at the moment, and that's why we can't be indifferent to it," the minister said. Meanwhile, Justice Minister Maria Kolikova noted on Facebook that the Auschwitz death camp become the grave of many of Hitler's political opponents, entire Roma communities, the sick and disabled as well as people of various ethnicities and religions.
