Slovak environment minister dismisses Environmental Fund director

Environment Minister Jan Budaj on Tuesday announced that he has dismissed Peter Kalivoda, director of the Environmental Fund, adding that Timea Sujova will head the organisation on a temporary basis. The minister criticised the previous board of the Environment Fund for its lack of transparency in granting subsidies, speaking about political and party protectionism and pointing not only to the criminal level of activities for which the Environment Ministry filed criminal motions but also to the ethical side of the proceedings.
