Slovak doctors, health insurers call for more funds for sector

Representatives of doctors, hospitals and health insurers have called for the urgent provision of additional funds, claiming that the sector will collapse in the next few days otherwise. The health-sector representatives have urged Health Minister Marek Krajci to draft a report on the financial situation of the sector. The costs of health-care providers have increased due to the need to provide protective aids in response to coronavirus. On the other hand, the volume of health care provided has decreased, thereby leading to a significant shortfall in revenues.
