Slovak demography in Q1

June 7th, 2018

Slovakia's population at the end of March was 5,442,974, while 13,704 children were born and 14,370 people died in the first three months of 2018, thereby resulting in a natural population decline of 666 persons, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday. Meanwhile, Slovakia gained 520 people by migration from abroad, as 1,271 people moved in and 751 people moved out. Thus the overall decline of Slovakia's population was 146 in the first quarter of 2018.
