Senate allocates ca. EUR 1.7 mln to aid Poles abroad this year

Nearly PLN 7.36 million (EUR 1.73 mln) was designated by the Senate in 2019 for charitable and social assistance for the Polish diaspora and Poles abroad, the upper house said in a statement on Monday. The sum includes over PLN 2.06 million (EUR 483,900) for the implementation of investment tasks related to assistance activities, it added. The money went to Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Georgia, Spain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Syria and Ukraine.
