SaS: Madaric's resignation begins break-up of Slovak govt

February 28th, 2018

The resignation of Culture Minister Marek Madaric on Wednesday in reaction to the murder of investigative journalist Jan Kuciak marks the beginning of the effective break-up of Robert Fico's government, said opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) chairman Richard Sulik. "Marek Madaric has been covering the crimes of governing party Smer-SD for ten years. That's why we consider his move today as late, but all the same a reaction caused by his conscience," said fellow opposition OLaNO chairman Igor Matovic.
