Art collectors and investors spent 737 million crowns at art auctions in the first six months of the year, roughly 200 million more than a year ago, Jan Skrivanek, from the server Artplus specialising on art market, told journalists today. It was a 35-percent growth. The first six months of the year were the most successful period in the history of the Czech art market, Skrivanek said. In the first half of the year, a new record was set for the most expensive artefact of Czech auctions and there were partial records in the categories of the 19th-century art and postwar art.
