Retail sales climb 5.3 pc in November 2018

Retail sales in Hungary rose by an annual 5.3 percent in November 2018, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first reading of data released on Monday. Sales growth decelerated from 6.4 percent in October, KSH said. Retail sales rose by 5.2 percent when adjusted for calendar year effects. Adjusted food sales were up 1.7 percent, non-food sales climbed 9.1 percent and fuel sales rose by 5.6 percent. In January-November 2018, retail sales rose by 6.2 percent according to unadjusted and by 6.3 percent according to calendar-year adjusted data compared to the same period a year earlier. Adjusted food sales were up by 3.8 percent, non-food sales climbed 9.4 percent and fuel sales rose by 6.5 percent.
