There were 135 railway accidents in July, almost one-third more than a month ago, which made it the worst month in at least past five years, according to the data released by the Czech Rail Safety inspection (DI). The number of accidents at railway crossing increased, too. In July, the incidents claimed 28 lives and there were 55 injuries, the biggest amount this year. Besides, there were 26 collisions of cars at railway crossings, 14 more than a month before. Seven people died in the accidents.
