Prosecutor complaint against nixed prosecution of Matovic dismissed

Bratislava Regional Court turned down a prosecutor's complaint at its closed-door session on June 6 against terminating the criminal prosecution of Ordinary People (OLaNO) leader Igor Matovic over slander of then-prime minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD), TASR learnt on Tuesday. "According to the appellate senate, the prosecutor's complaint wasn't justified, so the senate embraced the reasoning behind the verdict of the Bratislava District Court I, which terminated the criminal prosecution on February 23, 2018," TASR was told by Bratislava Regional Court spokesman Pavol Adamciak, adding that the decision stands as valid.
