Head of the Polish Teachers' Union (ZNP) Slawomir Broniarz on Tuesday announced the launch of a nation-wide protest. Broniarz said the union is backing the teachers' action of going on sick leave. "Things must change," said Broniarz and assured that ZNP wants to hold talks with representatives of the Ministry of National Education. He added that talks with the education minister are planned for January 8. In mid-November, ZNP started a survey among teachers on the methods of their fight for higher wages.
