A ceremony on September 1 at Westerplatte, the site where Germany invaded Poland in 1939, will be attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Sejm and Senate Speakers Marek Kuchciński and Stanisław Karczewski, respectively, and Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak. The ceremony will feature a memorial roll-call, a letter from the president, the national anthem and a short film about the outbreak of WWII.
