Polish peacekeeping forces prepare to return to UN missions

Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak observed the final stage of certification in Wedrzyn, western Poland, on Friday of the 1st Polish Military Contingent (PMC) preparing to go to Lebanon for UN peacekeeping duties, the first after a 10-year break for Poland. Blaszczak said participation in UN missions strengthens Poland's international position and that withdrawing from them ten years ago had been a mistake.
