Polish opposition party seeks motion of no-confidence in education minister

April 5th, 2019

The opposition Civic Platform-Civic Coalition will submit a motion of no-confidence in Education Minister Anna Zalewska, said Slawomir Neumann, a Civic Platform parliamentarian on Friday. "Over the last week, we gave Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the government an opportunity to overcome the crisis they led to: the crisis in education, the threat of a strike which will most probably take place in Poland on Monday," Neumann said at a press conference in the Sejm. "We were hoping that the government and Morawiecki, would... seek an agreement with the teachers on the eve of the strike, and not allow for the strike to take place," he added.
