Many Polish families paid the highest price for rescuing Jews. Some managed to save our brothers, some died with them, PM Mateusz Morawiecki said at a Monday meeting in Warsaw with Polish holders of the Righteous Among the Nations title. Addressing the meeting, called in connection with an earlier appeal by the Polish Righteous to the governments of Israel and Poland to wind up an ongoing diplomatic crisis around Polish anti-defamation laws, Morawiecki said that numerous Polish families paid with their lives for rescuing Jews during World War Two.
