Polish people living abroad transferred 3.7 billion zlotys (EUR 864m) to their home country in the first quarter of 2018, the National Bank of Poland (NBP) has reported. Compared to last year's first quarter, the value of remittances decreased by 200 million zlotys. Almost 59.5 percent of all funds were transferred, as in previous years, by Poles working in Germany (EUR 303m) and in the United Kingdom (EUR 187m). During the same period, foreigners working in Poland transferred 3.4 billion zlotys out of the country -- an increase of 700 billion zlotys in comparison with Q1 of 2017.
