Polish environment minister wants to boost recycling

April 24th, 2018

The Polish government wants packaging manufacturers to be financially responsible for recycling, Minister of Environment Henryk Kowalczyk told the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily. The fees for unsorted waste and the new, eco-friendly policy will encourage recycling. "We still don't have recycling at the level of 50 percent as EU policy requires, but we have already achieved 28 percent and we are on the best path to accomplish satisfying results," Kowalczyk said.
