Over the past 10 years of its existence, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), has injected PLN 40 bln (EUR 9.39 bln) into Polish universities and companies to boost development, deputy PM and Science Minister Jaroslaw Gowin has said. On Thursday, Jaroslaw Gowin was speaking at the "590" economic congress in Rzeszow, south Poland. The congress name comes from the 590 barcode prefix on Polish-produced goods. Referring to NCBR's 10th anniversary, Gowin stressed that NCBR had grown to become the biggest government-sponsored R and D agency in Central and Eastern Europe.
