The unlawful employment of foreigners in the Czech Republic brings with it the risk of organised crime targeted at illegal workers as well as public life in Czechia, the National Organised Crime Centre (NCOZ) writes in its 2018 annual report. In the report, the NCOZ also notes that the numbers of illegal migrants are stable and the police detained 183 persons in 2018. The NCOZ points out that companies have a higher interest in workers from abroad due to an ongoing economic boom and thus manage to find them in many different countries, mainly Ukraine.
