Polish Agriculture Minister Krzysztof Jurgiel said on Friday that the European Commission's proposal to cut funds for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), including for Poland, was only an initial one and Warsaw will seek equal payments for its farmers. Earlier on Friday, EC Commissioner Phil Hogan announced that the CAP budget for the 2021-2027 funding period is planned at 365 billion euros, down 5 percent from the current seven-year budget if calculated at current prices, or by 12 percent if calculated at fixed prices from 2018.
