Poland's voting errors caused by European Parliament 'chaos'

May 30th, 2018

A few Polish MEPs on Tuesday in Strasbourg voted for European Parliament (EP) changes to the posted workers directive unfavourable to Poland but, as they explained, they did it by mistake because the vote was conducted in a "chaotic" way. "Tuesday's voting, although it didn't take long, was carried out in a very chaotic manner by a vice-president of the European Parliament. Shortly after leaving the plenary hall, many MEPs noticed that their votes were wrong," a source in the EP press service told PAP. According to EP documents, nearly 40 MEPs submitted a correction to their vote, including those MEPs from Poland. The source from the EP press service told PAP that further corrections could be made in the documents if subsequent MEPs declare that they had cast their votes incorrectly.
