Poland, US sign science and technology cooperation pact

Poland and the United States have signed an agreement on cooperation in science and technology during a visit to Washington by a Polish delegation headed by deputy PM Jaroslaw Gowin. The deal will foster closer ties between academics and universities. At the signing ceremony, Gowin said that establishing cooperation "with the world's biggest scientific powerhouse, the United States, is a great opportunity for Polish scientific units, universities and Polish scientists." The science minister stressed that the agreement was part of Poland's strategy to make the domestic economy more innovative.
