Poland joins UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage committee

Poland has joined the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Culture Ministry said in a press statement on Thursday. During the 7th session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, which took place on June 4-6, 12 new representatives, including Poland, were elected to the UNESCO intergovernmental committee. Other candidates from the Central and Eastern Europe were Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Romania, Slovakia and Macedonia.
