March 11th, 2019
Polish Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak said in Szczecin (north-west Poland) on Monday that 20 years ago, when Poland joined NATO, it was only starting the modernisation of its armed forces; today "it belongs to a group of countries shaping the alliance." The minister stressed that the command of the Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin "is the highest-rank NATO institution operating in Poland." Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary joined NATO on March 12, 1999.
